Project Title: Stamp Design – Celebrate Canadian Arts

Brief: Design four different stamps as part of one unique Canadian permanent stamp series for the Canadian Postal Service. Encompass what is interesting and relevant to the Canadian public. Represent the unity of Canadians and spotlight the value of celebration within local communities and as a nation.

Roll and Skills: I developed the concept and the graphics in Adobe Illustrator with a focus on Canadian Arts, representing the concept of unity and celebration among Canadians. Concert halls across Canada represent the importance and diversity of music. Architecture in communities is elevated to art. Bright high contrast colours create designs that pop off the page, create visual interest and draw attention. Accents of a halftone effect help create the pop art and comic book style to bring texture into the illustrations. Thick, bold, and black lines create definition and define the bright colours in pop art style.

Results: The stamp series of Canadian concert halls in a pop art illustration style communicates the themes of art, community, celebration, and the unity of Canada in a unique way. The theme shines a spotlight on the arts in Canada and how music brings Canadians together across the country.
